The Booming Business of Home Health Care

Published on February 7th, 2011

Forbes Magazine has posted an article outlining a new business venture between Intel and General Electric. The two companies have committed $250 million dollars to the research of new home health care products over the next five years.   The new technology hopes to detect and/or monitor  health problems like diabetes, chronic heart failure, lung problems and other chronic ailments so people can live in their homes longer.

According to Jeffrey Immelt, Chief Executive of GE, “This is the first step in what we believe will be a big business going forward.” The more important point came from  Intel’s Vice President Louis Burns, “You are not going to be able to take care of [everyone] in hospitals. You are going to have to take care of people in their home.”

With health care costs already out of control, this technology cannot be developed soon enough.

The good news is there is technology to keep you and your loved ones at home longer available right now.  And it doesn’t require a $250 million dollar investment.  Sadler Construction‘s LifeStage Design has all the building technology to keep you in your home for as long as possible.  And you can pick and choose how much or how little you want to invest.  Need an accessible bathroom for your mother?  Want multi-level counter tops in your kitchen?  Tired of using the stairs?  Or do you just want a new home with all of the above and then some.  Let us know what we can do  to create a home that takes care of you.
